Where our data comes from

The backbone of Costco Gas Price DB is Costco itself. Warehouse locations, addresses, gas station hours, fuel grades and on-site services come from the information Costco publishes for each warehouse on its own websites in the United States, Canada and France. When Costco changes a warehouse’s details, our next rebuild picks the change up.

Pump prices are gathered once a day from Costco and cross-checked against a number of independent sources, including price reports shared by volunteers who fill up at Costco stations. Comparing several sources helps us catch a stale or mistyped price before it reaches a station page, and it fills gaps on days when one source misses a station. Every station page shows the date of the reading it is built from.

Prices collected once a day can lag same-day changes at the pump, so the price you see at the station is always the one that counts.
